Department of Science in Taxation
The Department of Taxation is a department that combines tax law, tax accounting, and tax policy, and its core educational goals are 'fostering competent tax experts' and 'integrated understanding of tax affairs'. Semu Studies is a study that can be understood only when studying law, accounting, and economics in an integrated and systematic manner. Therefore, in order to major in Semu Studies, it is necessary to have the ability to think in a convergent way that can accept and apply various disciplines in an integrated manner along with the concentration of one's major. The Department of Taxation at University of Seoul, which was established as the first tax-related department of a four-year university nationwide, aims to build tax expertise on the strong foundation of adjacent studies such as liberal arts, law, accounting, and economics, and further sets the academic establishment of Semu Studies as its ideology. In order to implement this, the majors are subdivided and specialized to enable in-depth learning.
