ISIC Issuance

Issuance of international student ID cards

Eligibility for issuance
  • Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as students on leave of absence (however, students who have completed their studies are not eligible)
Application and issuance
  • Log in to the UOS portal (sso.uos.ac.kr) Click on Services → Click on International Student ID Application → Fill out online application form → Pay issuance fee of ₩19,000 online (virtual account deposit)
Card types
  • Standard ISIC: A standard card without financial functions; pay issuance fee online after filling out the application form
  • Debit ISIC: A student card that also serves as a debit card; pay issuance fee online after filling out the application form
Issuance location
  • Standard ISIC
    • Same-day issuance: Bring student ID; visit the Student Service Center (2F, Student Hall)
    • Mail issuance: Issued and sent by KISES; receipt within 3 business days after the issuance application
  • Debit ISIC
    • In-person issuance: Bring ID and issuance confirmation; visit any branch of the relevant bank nationwide to apply
    • Online issuance: Prepare ID; apply to open an account and issue a debit card via mobile
  • ISIC cards (both standard and debit types) can be issued without a certificate of enrollment (or leave of absence) if online application is completed on the school website
ISIC validity period
  • The validity period of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is 13 months, and you can select the starting month of the validity period when filling out the application form.
    • You can choose the starting month of the validity period considering your departure schedule.
  • When filling out the online application form, you can select a validity start month within 3 months.
    • For example: When writing the application in July, you can choose the validity start month from July/August/September/October.
  • Valid for 13 months from the selected starting month.
    • For example: If you choose July as the starting month, it will be valid from July 1 of that year until the end of July of the following year.

You must have a valid ISIC when purchasing airline tickets and using online benefits, so please be careful when choosing the validity period.
(For airline tickets, ISIC must be valid on the date of boarding.)
