I'm curious about scholarships.

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.


Full-time graduate students can receive the following scholarship benefits.


1. Internal scholarships

Tuition support scholarship, research support scholarship, combined bachelor's/master's scholarship, teaching assistant scholarship, dean's scholarship, etc.


2. External scholarships

Development fund scholarship, etc.

UOS Graduate School is an educational institution focused on actual research and provides scholarships to full-time students. Please note, there are no separate "Seoul Family Scholarship" benefits.

Can I write foreign university names in Korean?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.

For those from foreign universities, please be sure to write the school name in its full English name.

(However, write in Korean when providing a certified Korean translation.)


Example 1: 퀸즐랜드대학교 → University of Queensland

Example 2: 중국런민대학교 → Renmin University of China

Example 3: 早稻田大學 → Waseda University


Please write the English name of the school as it appears on your graduation certificate or transcript.

Do graduates from Chinese universities need to submit an additional academic certification report?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.


Graduates from Chinese universities must submit an academic certification report in addition to their graduation certificate (degree certificate) and transcript.


The final documents that graduates from Chinese universities must submit are as follows.


1. One copy of the application form

2. One copy of the research plan

3. One English copy of graduation (expected) certificate or degree (expected) certificate → consular authentication or apostille

4. One English copy of transcript → consular authentication or apostille

5. One English copy of Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate

6. One English copy of Online Verification Report of Higher Education Degree Certificate  


※ If the graduation certificate and transcript are in Chinese, they must be translated into English, notarized, and receive consular authentication or apostille.

How should I submit foreign university documents if they are not in Korean or English?

If foreign university documents are not in Korean or English, please submit the original along with an English translated and notarized copy with an apostille.


If it is not possible to obtain an apostille, you can submit it with a consular authentication stamp (original) from the Korean consulate (or embassy).


UOS Graduate School does not separately provide information on issuing agencies for apostilles.

Please find the apostille issuing agency yourself and submit the documents within the submission period.

How can I get an original document verification on the day of the oral examination?

A

If you submitted copies of documents such as certificates during the document submission period, you can bring the original certificates on the day of the oral examination and have them verified by the staff (assistant).

How is the written examination conducted for school departments?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.


If you look at the additional eligibility requirements and submission documents content in the recruitment guidelines, you will see that some departments conduct a separate written examination on the day of the oral examination.

(Not all departments conduct written examinations.)


As the method of conducting written examinations varies by department, please inquire with the specific department for details.

Can I know the time and place of the oral examination in advance?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.

The oral examination schedule is announced in advance in the admission guide, and oral examinations are conducted by each department.

Some departments may conduct practical and written tests.

The oral examination method, location, and time will be announced at 5 PM on the Monday of the week of the oral examination.

(Example: Sat, Nov. 11, 2023 → announced at 5 PM on Mon, Nov. 6, 2023)

※ If Monday is a holiday, it will be announced on Tuesday.

Below is a rough schedule. Please refer to the recruitment guidelines for detailed schedules.


- Spring semester (March admission): early to mid-November

- Fall semester (September admission): early January

Can I get back the documents I submitted?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.

Submitted documents cannot be returned for any reason.


[Examples]

1. I want to get back only the documents from foreign universities. → Cannot be returned

2. I want to come in person and copy only the certificate of employment. → Cannot be returned

3. I submitted documents that need to be submitted to another university. → Cannot be returned

Is it possible to apply to multiple programs?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.


Multiple applications are not allowed.


You can only apply once per recruitment period.

However, you can apply separately for different rounds.

(You can apply separately for the first round of spring admission, second round of spring admission, and fall admission.)

I have obtained (or am expected to obtain) a bachelor's degree through the Academic Credit Bank System (ACBS). Can I apply for a master's program?

A

Greetings, this is the UOS Graduate School.


Those who have obtained (or are expected to obtain) a bachelor's degree through the ACBS can apply for a master's degree program.


However, if you are expected to obtain a degree through the ACBS, you must submit a certificate of expected degree conferment.

(Submission of academic recognition certificate or credit recognition certificate is not allowed.)

After final acceptance, please make sure to submit your degree certificate by the deadline.
