Graduate students can receive internal scholarships, such as for exemplary students and research studies, external scholarships provided by external scholarship foundations, and student loans through the Korea Student Aid Foundation.
Internal Scholarships
President’s scholarship
- Eligibility : Students recommended by the Dean of Student Affairs and the Dean of Graduate School for special reasons
- Benefits : Full tuition (including admission fee for new students)
- Application : No separate application; recommended by the Dean of Student Affairs and the Dean of Graduate School
Class support scholarship
- Eligibility : Students recommended by the head professor to support professors’ classes and related tasks, meeting the criteria set by the scholarship committee
- Benefits : Full tuition (type A); half tuition (type B); fixed amount (type G)
- Application : Submit scholarship application to department office during application period
- Required documents : Scholarship application form and proof of full-time student
- Eligibility : New students or current students who completed 6 or more credits in the previous semester (must be full-time students)
Research studies scholarship
- Eligibility : Students recommended by the head professor to support professors’ research and related tasks, meeting the criteria set by the scholarship committee
- Benefits : Full tuition (type A); half tuition (type B); fixed amount (type G)
- Application : Submit scholarship application to department office during application period
- Required documents : Scholarship application form and proof of full-time student
- Eligibility : New students or current students who completed 6 or more credits in the previous semester (must be full-time students)
Combined Bachelor’s/Master’s scholarship
- Eligibility : Students admitted to the graduate school through the combined program, recommended by the head professor based on grades and other factors
- Benefits : Fixed amount for 3 semesters
- Application : No separate application; recommended by the head professor
- Required documents : None
- Eligibility : New students or current students admitted through the combined Bachelor’s/Master’s program (must be full-time students)
Dean’s scholarship
- Eligibility : Students recommended by the Dean of Graduate School for special reasons within the quota set by the scholarship committee
- Benefits : Full tuition (including admission fee for new students) or half tuition
- Recommendations accepted for 1 full scholarship or 2 half scholarships (within the allocated quota)
- Eligibility : New students or current students (must be full-time students)
- Application : No separate application; recommended by the Dean of Graduate School
Teaching assistant scholarship
- Eligibility : Students supporting professors’ teaching activities (* certain number of doctoral students)
- Benefits : Full tuition (including admission fee for new students)
- Application : Submit scholarship application and proof of full-time student to department office during application period (no online application)
- Required documents : Scholarship application form, activity plan, and proof of full-time student
- Eligibility : New students or doctoral students who completed 6 or more credits in the previous semester (must be full-time students)
International student scholarship
- Eligibility : A certain number of students admitted through international student admission
- Benefits : Full tuition (including admission fee for new students) or half tuition
Exchange student scholarship
- Eligibility : Exchange students studying under agreements with foreign universities
- Benefits : Fixed amount
International summer school scholarship
- Eligibility : Students enrolled in the international summer school program (international and UOS students)
- Benefits : Fixed amount
Study abroad scholarship
- Eligibility : Students selected by the university for overseas study
- Benefits : Fixed amount
Research fund scholarship
- Eligibility : Students selected by the university for overseas study
- Benefits : Fixed amount
※ Graduate School’s general principles for scholarship payment
- Scholarship applications for graduate students are limited to full-time new students or full-time students who have taken 6 or more credits in the previous semester. However, the President’s Scholarship and the Dean’s Scholarship are possible even for those who have not completed 6 credits in the previous semester.
- Students whose research funding amount for the previous half-year exceeds the maximum allowable amount of external personnel expenses for 6 months for master’s and doctorate’s students as stipulated in Article 12, Paragraph 5 of the National R&D Project Management Regulations are excluded from scholarship selection.
