Overview
- Students who have completed the required duration of study and minimum credit requirements for the master’s program, doctorate's program, or combined master’s/doctorate's program and wish to obtain a degree may register as a graduate research student on a semester basis if necessary.

Graduate research student registration
- Students who have completed their studies and wish to obtain a degree may register as Graduate Research Students on a semester basis if they so desire. However, students who have completed their studies must register as Graduate Research Students if they meet any of the following criteria.
- The semester in which a student wishes to take the foreign language exam, the comprehensive exam, or submit a thesis for a degree
- The semester in which a student wishes to use the university’s laboratories and other facilities
- The semester in which a student wishes to participate in research projects and receive research funding
Graduate research student benefits
- Students can submit their thesis by receiving research guidance from their thesis advisor.
- Students are eligible to take the qualification exams for degree acquisition (foreign language exam, comprehensive exam).
- Students can utilize research facilities equivalent to those available to currently enrolled students (such as libraries and laboratories).
