Educational objectives

Core objectives The urban sociology graduate program aims to cultivate experts in urban cultural services, cultural industries, cultural criticism, cultural planning, and local communities. Based on an interdisciplinary approach to urban society, it constructs a curriculum that integrates theory and practice through social and cultural theory education, field-applied specializations, and cooperation and internship programs with experts and organizations. In particular, it responds to the demand for high-level professionals in the field of urban society by strengthening the ability to independently research and analyze complex urban phenomena based on education in theory and methodology.

Research areas Cultural industry field and local community research field

Majors (track)

Cultural Industry Specialization Research in the cultural industry field aims to reveal the relationship between the development of cultural industries emerging as future industries and urban change
Local Community Research Research in the local community research field aims at social scientific analysis of newly emerging urban phenomena due to industrialization and informatization.
