2014 MURD Admission

 

We cordially invite you to participate in Master Degree Program in Urban & Regional Development (MURD) of the International Urban Development Program (IUDP) at the UOS starting in August 2014.

 

Please refer to the Admission Guideline as below (or the attached).

 

> Objectives of MURD

1.   To provide theoretical and practical education that can enable government officials from KOICAs partner countries to formulate a long-term national comprehensive plan for territory development.

2.   To enhance program participants knowledge and experiences in the field of urban and regional development including master planning, land use planning, real estate and housing development, urban redevelopment, new town development, etc.

3.   To develop program participants capacity to manage infrastructure development projects for their own countries

4.   To provide program participants with opportunities to develop cooperative relationships and personal networks with scholars, professionals, and government officials from Korea and other countries

 

> Applicants Qualification

 

1.   Applicants must be a citizen of the Scholarship Program target countries

2.   Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent

3.   Applicants must be a government official or a public sector employee whose work is closely related to national territory planning, urban and regional planning, infrastructure planning and development, and other areas of physical planning and development.

4.   Applicants should be officially nominated or endorsed by his/her government

5.   Applicants should have sufficient command of both spoken & written English to take classes conducted entirely in English.

6.   Applicants should be 40 years old or younger at the time of application and in good health, both physically and mentally

7.   Applicants have not previously received a scholarship for a Master degree program from Korean government.

 

> Financial Support

-           Tuition fee of regular program

-           Economy class, round-trip airfare between Seoul (Incheon International Airport) and Participants country

-           Dormitory charge of school (double-occupancy)

-           Monthly living allowance

-           A medical checkup after entrance

-           Overseas travel insurance, etc.
