Foundation & Vision

Foundation

ISUS has been founded with the aim to nurture urban and construction professionals, both home and abroad with the skills, knowledge and professionalism, which are called for in today’s increasingly globalizing professional environment.

It offers postgraduate degree programs in sustainable urban development and global construction providing unique combinations of practice and theory in the relevant fields such as urban planning and management, urban and regional policies, finance, construction, operation and management.

In addition to the two graduate programs which primarily attract Korean mid-career professionals, ISUS offers a range of international degree programs under the International Urban Development Program (IUDP). These distinctive master’s and doctoral degree programs include the Master of Urban Administration and Planning (MUAP), Master of Urban Development (MUD), Master’s Program for Future Global Leaders in Environmental Policy (MGLEP), Master of Urban Development and Smart Infrastructure Policy (MUDSIP), Master of AI Digital Innovation (MAIDI), and Doctor of Philosophy in AI Digital Innovation (DAIDI).

IUDP also offers non-degree programs, including the Global Urban Leaders Program(GULP) which is designed for mid-career government officials from partner cities and countries and the Seoul Case Study Program(SCSP), an intensive case study program for students from leading universities in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The School brings together perspectives and disciplines to facilitate the sharing of Korea’s development experience with partner countries that seek to learn from its achievements and challenges.

The academic programs offer rich opportunities for domestic and international students to engage across disciplines and programs through lectures, seminars, and other special activities. These interactions foster lasting professional networks among future policymakers, practitioners, and scholars who will contribute to sustainable urban development worldwide.
