About IUD

The Department of International Urban Development offers a doctoral program to domestic and international students aiming to make significant contributions to sustainable urban development and construction in an international context. This is one of the interdisciplinary cooperative program offerings centered around the International Graduate School of Urban Sciences, leveraging the university’s top educational capabilities in urban sciences, the school’s expertise in international urban development, and the renowned urban policy experience of the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Educational objectives

The Graduate School Department of International Urban Development aims to strengthen our university’s international competitiveness in international urban science research and to cultivate experts in international urban development, with the following specific objectives.

  1. Providing a research, practical, and industry-linked network platform in the fields of international urban infrastructure and urban policy for sharing urban policies between countries and mutual development.
  2. Training international urban development and overseas construction experts equipped with theoretical foundations, professional knowledge, and practical capabilities to actively and effectively respond to international urban development and overseas construction.
  3. Cultivating experts who possess professionalism and skills based on rich cultural knowledge and proper values through interdisciplinary education.
Eligibility

Individuals who have obtained a master’s degree from a domestic or international accredited university or are expected to obtain a master's degree.

Education period

2 years (4 semesters)
