Program Overview

The University of Seoul is delighted to host the International Research Internship Program, designed for students from our global partner universities. This program provides a unique opportunity to engage in academic research and cultural exchange in the vibrant city of Seoul, South Korea.

Program Highlights
Semester Internship
  • Duration: 16 weeks during the spring or fall semester
  • Credit: 3 academic credits
  • Work Requirement: 160+ hours of research work

Application Deadlines
  • Spring Semester Internship: October 30 (prior year)
  • Summer Internship: April 15
  • Fall Semester Internship: April 30
Cost
  • Summer Internship: 2,400,000 KRW (approx. 1,650 USD, as of 2025)

    ‣ On-campus accommodation, cultural field trips included
  • Semester Internship: vary by department (as of 2025)

    • Business Administration: 2,156,000 KRW (approx. 1,480 USD)
    • Engineering: 2,848,000 KRW (approx. 1,950 USD)
    • Sport Science: 2,892,000 KRW (approx. 1,980 USD)
      ‣ Can take up to 18 credits per semester including the internship
How to Apply for Summer 2025 Internship
Semester Internship

Email global@uos.ac.kr with the information requested as following;
- Email’ title should include [Summer 2025 Internship].

  • 1) Your name (first name + family name)
  • 2) Your home university
  • 3) Your current field of study & grade
  • 4) The lab you are applying to (choose one from the list on our website)
  • 5) [Attachment] Your CV and Cover Letter
  • 6) [Attachment] Your Academic Transcript (the most recent one)
  • 7) [Attachment] Proof of English or Korean Proficiency (official test score, if you have any)
Step 2: by March 28, 2025

Online Interview by each Lab

  • You will be informed the date & time for your interview by March 21 (FRI).
  • Interview will be conducted between March 24 (MON) and 28 (FRI).
Step 3: by April 4, 2025

The result of the Interview will be notified to each of the interviewees by April 4 (FRI).

Step 4: by April 30, 2025

Your home university’s coordinator is asked to complete the Nomination for your Application to the Seoul International Summer School Ⅰ by April 30 (WED).

Step 5: by May 15, 2025

You are asked to complete your Application to the Seoul International Summer School Ⅰ by May 15 (TUE). Payment of the program fee (2,400,000 KRW) is also due by May 15 (TUE). You can make the payment upon the completion of your application through Flywire.

Step 6: by May 30, 2025

Upon completion of the review on your application and payment, U of Seoul will upload the admission package (soft copy) on the page of Application Status. Applicants can download it by oneself. U of Seoul can send you the hard copy only upon request.
